Our story
The name Angels in Mission or the acronym AIM was chosen because first, we live in a district called Mission (in reality, it should be Upper Mission but it became complicated to call it Archangel in Upper Mission, so we stayed with Angels in Mission.) and secondly, because we felt many Angels helped in manifesting this place.
Here is the story:
Following the Okanagan forest fires in 2003, my husband Jim and I purchased a 5 acre lot as an investment the following year. From the treed forest before the fire, only 4 trees were left on the entire 5 acres but it opened up a magnificent panoramic view over the lake.
One sunny day, as we were near the top of the property gathering branches from the burned trees, we felt the incredible beauty and peace surrounding us. It felt like a moment of eternity in the immensity before us. I stopped for a minute to appreciate that feeling and thought “How can we thank Heaven for all the blessings we have” and I heard an inner voice saying “Bring people closer to me”. I wouldn’t dare pretend it was God speaking but someone from Heaven.
I called Jim who was nearby to share that precious moment with him. We sat on a rock and I told him what I heard within, I said: “Darling, we don’t have any children so what are we going to do when we retire? Why not create a spiritual center where people come closer to their divinity? That way we will put something back in the system for all the blessings we have received during our life?” He held my hand while tears slowly flowed down his cheeks.
That felt right but how were we going to make this happen? We had borrowed the maximum amount of money we could to buy the land. We needed a miracle. So, I called a friend of mine in France who was gifted with seeing images for people who needed guidance. I shared with her what I had heard and the idea of creating a spiritual center but did not know how to make this happen physically, financially or spiritually. She said, just be sincere in your desire to help people come closer to Heaven and it will all come together in due time. People there have the means but they still lack something without knowing what it is they are missing. It is the connection with Divine they are missing. Eventually, there will be a line-up of cars along the road coming to your place.
In 2005, we built a coach house along the one third of the property hoping that eventually we would build the main house toward the top of the property where I had heard that message. Our original plan needed to be modified due to new building restrictions, so in 2018 we decided to renovate and expand the coach house by adding an extra floor where today we have our spiritual space, the AIM center.
This space is where you can come closer to your divinity!
